OUR HISTORY
The Lower Clarence Arts & Crafts Association
Inc. is a non-profit community organisation which was formed in 1966, and
is the longest established Art and Craft group on the North Coast of New
South Wales. In 1986 the Association was incorporated, enabling it to provide
umbrella protection for its membership which is comprised of many interest
groups. Since 1984 a Community Collection of Fine Arts and Crafts has been
made each year, and the Maclean Shire Council has purchased works which
are displayed in the Council Chambers. In 1991 our members raised $50,000
and the State and Federal Governments each granted $50,000 towards setting
up a gallery and Studio at Ferry Park Visitors Centre. The Gallery and
Studio are maintained and funded by the Association.
